What Should We Do? (Part 2)
“Whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus……” Colossians 3:17
St. Paul saw himself as the earthly father of all Christians in the early churches that he helped to establish, and he is therefore very mindful of their spiritual growth. This is why he often writes to them giving Christian guidelines, especially in Colossians and Ephesians. Here are a few of those guidelines which are also meant for us:
Walk wisely because you have to be an example to believers and unbelievers.
Be very careful about what you say. Be gracious and remember that you should be trying to uplift each other.
“Let the Word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom” because the Word will guide you and you should teach each other.
Be thankful always because of all that God has done for you through Christ.
Develop a strong pray life and include prayers for God’s messengers that they would represent Christ faithfully.
Be fair and just to all.
Do not miss your calling. You should keep on trying to fulfil God’s purpose for your life.
Try to be more tolerant and sympathetic to each other.
9. Now that Christ has made you into a new person, you should try hard to imitate Him and live the new life that you have been given. 10. Do not waver, be steadfast in your faith in Christ – “rooted and built up in Him.”
