Ministries
A church is not a building but people. At Spirit of Joy, those people all share a common purpose: to renew lives, communities, the Church and the world. To make that happen we could use your help. Mission Outreach
Whether it’s hosting homeless families, collecting food and volunteering with Harvest of Hope in Bithlo, taking local and global mission trips to places Burundi, Africa, repairing bikes or partnering with local schools and churches to support families in need renewing communities is at the heart of Spirit of Joy’s purpose and the Mission Outreach team leads the charge.
Life Groups
Having a community to share the ups and downs of life with is a great blessing. At Spirit of Joy, our Life Groups team works to make sure everyone that wants to can get connected in some sort of community, whether around interests, life stages or discussion topics.
Children
Our weekly learning time for ages 4 through 5th grade meets as part of worship each Sunday. At Spirit of Joy, we feel that it is important for children to worship with their families. That is why families will pray together, sing together, hear God’s Word together, and commune together during worship. Then children will leave for learning time, while adults share together in “learning time” in the worship center. We also offer nursery care for infants through age 3 in the FishBowl near the south entrance of the worship center.
Youth
Relationships are key in our middle and high school ministries, so every student is a part of a small group where they can grow in relationships with each other, with caring adults, and with Jesus Christ. There are weekly opportunities to hang out, play games, eat together and study the bible as well as opportunities to have fun and serve the world through mission trips and other events.
College / Young Adults
The Current, our young adult ministry is for people in their 20s and 30s, both in and out of college. Weekly gatherings with acoustic worship, a message, snacks and discussion happen every Monday at 7pm. There are also Life Groups and other social events, retreats and service projects. Worship Arts
We have a great group of volunteers that sing and play instruments on our worship team, write and act in dramas and run sound, computer and lighting equipment for worship. We like to create powerful, engaging and fun worship experiences at Spirit of Joy and the worship arts team helps to make that happen.
Prayer
As it says in James 5:16…”The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.” At Spirit of Joy our prayer team works to help to sharpen our prayer focus and equip people to increase their prayer frequency and comfort levels both in private devotions and in public settings.
